In 1904 Abbot Mulsant and Abbot Chevalier went to the Holy Land to get some footage for their biblical lectures. At the time there they filmed also some scenes with Jesus as a child. These became "Palestine: Programme Biblique" and "In Nazareth". The whole project resulted in five documentary or artistic lectures. During the next year and a half they gave many lectures using this material. Later, when Gaumont became the distributer deal with Bonne Presse, that they included the films into their catalog for distribution sale, and here the title was "In Nazareth" for this part. They divided the film under the following titles: "The workshop", "Fountain of Nazareth", "Return of the Fountain", "The well", and "Evening closing in".
The complete collection of views that was brought back from Palestine was called "Aux pays de l'enfance du Christ".
