"Faust and Marguerite" was apparently Georges Méliès first literary adaptation to film. It depicts Mephistopheles who demands that Faust kill Marguerite. The film was made earlier than "Faust: Apparition de Méphistophélès" by Lumiere but assumed lost so it's difficult to know how much was borrowed.
