"A Funny Mahometan" is a now lost silent short comedy from 1897 directed by Georges Méliès as well as him playing the main character, the Algerian Muslim. It is presumed to be the first known film on an Algerian topic in the history of cinema.

The movie was released by Méliès's Star Film Company and was number 94 in its catalog, where it was advertised as a scène comique.
