A Mexican story of passionate people. There's a mistaken posse in it and an innocent man and woman suspected of murder. The woman takes refuge in a church and the padre protects her. The struggle in which the supposed murdered man lost his life is then described to the sheriff who declares the suspected ones to be innocent. The scenes were chosen and made by an artist, but, although these are extremely pretty, they have been photographed on defective film. The defects do not destroy, they merely mar the beauty of the pictures of the scenes. The action is carried forward smoothly and doesn't drag. The picture will make a first-class filler.

The Protection of the Cross was probably filmed at Bison Company's ranch studio in Santa Ynez Canyon, north of Santa Monica, CA, near the present-day junction of Pacific Coast Highway and Sunset Boulevard.
