Just like Alice Guy's version in France two years before, Arthur Gilbert presumably made a 22 scene Phonoscene opera version of Faust in 1906. This one is attribute to Alice Guy mostly, so it may be a film that Arthur Gilbert branded as his as well. This may have been based partly or entirely on the Alice Guy version and rebranded to the United Kingdom, but many sources point to it being its own. Images from the film were synchronized with recorded soundtracks using the Chronophone sound-on-disc system. See the Alice Guy version for this. Arthur Gilbert also made a few short standalone scenes from Faust the year before for Gaumont("Serenade from Faust"), and this may be part of why the long version is attributed solely to him as well.
