There's a great range of expressions on the faces of these young children, aged around five and up, as they are chivvied into position along a terraced street before setting off on parade. Most seem to be concentrating hard on the matter in hand and only a few are smiling at the start, but when instructed to raise their hats (if they have one), they put on a very decent display of enthusiasm.
St. Barnabas Church of England School was founded in 1883 and still stands today, though now in different premises.

Main (replacement) title (00.07). Rows of young boys and girls lined up along the pavement and road. A row of terraced houses runs along the end of the road. The teachers marshall the children and instruct them to begin walking. The children walk to camera; the majority of girls wear smock-type pinafores over their dresses and the boys wear identical trousers and jackets with big white collars. Male teachers bring up the rear (00.53). Dense crowds of children filling the roads and pavement [1]. A male teacher raises his hat and gives instruction for the children to look at camera and cheer which they do (1.13mins).

Reviews
These children are orderly exiting the school, but get the opportunity for some cheers at the end. No need to make these kind of films longer than this.
