Brother Ambrose, who is sent out upon his mule for some money, falls asleep on the way back and is held up by highwaymen. He begs them to shoot holes in his cloak so that he may tell a valiant story on his return home. They do so, and when their pistols are unloaded. Brother Ambrose draws his pistol and drives the miscreants to the monastery where they are dealt with accordingly.
