A fat monk enjoying a hearty dinner washed down with a huge stein of ale. A characteristic and amusing subject.
Source: Biograph Bulletin
On a set that appears to be a stone castle or a monastery is a table with bread, meat, a plate, and a knife and fork on it, as well as a large stein of beer. A man dressed as a friar of a member of some ecclesiastical order is sitting at the table, eating greedily, reading, and enjoying himself. For the full extent of the film, the man conveys the impression that he is thoroughly enjoying both eating and reading.
