Description

A young sailor leaves his fiancée for a distant sea voyage. On the way back, a violent storm breaks out and the ship sinks. The sailor is delivered, alone, on a small boat at the mercy of the hurricane. A kind of prescience makes his bride guess that he is in danger. And, while the sailor on his knees in his frail skiff implores the help of the Virgin, she herself went to kneel in the chapel of Notre Dame de la Dune. This double call is heard. An angel descends from heaven, calms the storm, and, landing at the back of the boat, opens its wings which, spread like sails, bring the bridegroom back to port.
